Chronographs with DAMASKO chronograph movement
The DC 80 project is the beginning of a new chronograph series with several extension levels of the DAMASKO chronograph movement C51. The project is based on a patented chronograph construction (further development) named C51, based on the proven ETA/Valjoux 7750. Benchmark for the modification of the ETA/Valjoux 7750 was to significantly increase the readability of the chronograph function. For that reason DAMASKO put their main focus on the technical realization of a jumping 60-minute stop hand out of the center. This new patented construction allows to record stopping times even more easily, faster and more accurately. The Lemania 5100 movement so far set a pattern for a clear and unambiguous readability. The new construction of our watch manufactory has two advantages especially in terms of readability: First: 60 minutes are now shown in just one complete turn of the center hand rather than the usual 30 minutes while the assigned minute scale is counted over the full dial. Second: Further advantages of this further movement development are the possibilities of adding an independently adjustable second time zone which can be operated by the crown at 3 o’clock. In addition to that the new movement allows a larger date display directly under the dial. The date wheel is closer to the dial though, as opposed to some module calibers.
